Eddie L. Pounds
Eddie is a distinguished attorney and lobbyist with over two decades of experience navigating the legal landscape of Maryland. He has built a robust career across both public and private sectors, specializing in government operations, economic development, surety bond litigation, contracts, and administrative law.
Eddie’s expertise lies in government relations, where he adeptly assists clients in understanding and overcoming the complexities of government regulations. His deep knowledge of economic development in Prince George’s County has enabled him to effectively guide developers through land use and zoning issues, as well as how to handle numerous liquor-licensing matters before the Prince George’s County Board of License Commissioners. He is particularly known for his work with social equity cannabis clients, advising on licensing and corporate transactions with the Maryland Cannabis Administration.
Eddie graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore Law School. He is a member of the Maryland State, Prince George’s, and J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Associations. Among his many community-based engagements, Eddie is President of the Maryland Government Relations Association, and legal counsel to both the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce, and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Prince George’s County. Eddie is also an adjunct professor at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, where he teaches Real Estate Law and Business Ethics.
