James “Ed” Degrange

As a Maryland State Senator from 2009–2019, Ed has invaluable insight into the inner workings of Maryland state government. As senator, Ed distinguished himself as Chairman of the Capital Budget and the Public Safety and Transportation & Environment Subcommittees. He also served on an impressive number of committees, caucuses, and commissions. Throughout his tenure, Ed earned the trust and respect of colleagues, staff, and constituents across Maryland, building a reputation for effective leadership and advocacy.

In addition to his work in the Senate, Ed served on the Anne Arundel County Council and the Maryland Lottery Commission. He has also been tremendously active in communities throughout Maryland – including an impressive number of engagements too long to list – testament to Ed’s dedication to the state of Maryland.
